BOBBY JOHN COBB January 29, 1931- January 31, 2006PELZER, SCMr. Bobby John Cobb, age 75 of 126 Whitten Road, Pelzer, SC and husband of the late Shelby Jean Owen Cobb, died Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at the Hospice House in Anderson, SC.Born in Oconee County, SC, Mr. Cobb was the son of the late Lewis Cobb and Annie Posey Cobb. He was retired from Wamsutta Mills and then began working as a greeter at the Wal-Mart Super center on 28 By-Pass. He was a Mason, a Shriner and a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.Survivors include step-daughters, Peggy Suggs and Diane Caldwell, both of Columbia, SC; brothers, Franklin Cobb of Whitt, TX and William Cobb of Edgewood, TX; sisters, Deeva Swaney of Anderson, SC, Ruby Barry of Pelzer, SC; a half-sister, Vera Mae Childress of Greenville, SC and several step-grandchildren.In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Loranzie, Richard and Jule Cobb.The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home by the Reverend Sam Duncan. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, SC.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 2, 2006 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.The family will be at the home of his sister, Ruby Barry, 124 Whitten Road, Pelzer, SC.Flowers are optional.
