OBITUARY/ FLAGBOBBY FRANKLINFebruary 23, 1928 - October 4, 2007TOWNVILLE, SCBobby R. Franklin, age79, husband of Velma Sylvene Bratcher Franklin, of 205 Park Road, Townville, SC, died Thursday, October 4, 2007 at his residence.Born in Anderson County on February 23, 1928, Mr. Franklin was a son of the late Loy Ernest Franklin and Rosina Mae Allison Franklin. He was a 1945 graduate of Boys' High and had retired from FFE Trucking Company in Norcross, GA. He was a member of the Dickson Memorial Methodist Church where he was a member of the Men's Fellowship. Mr. Franklin was a charter member of three United Methodist churches including, St. Mathews United Methodist Church in Greenville, SC, Grace United Methodist Church in Charleston, SC, and Berkmar United Methodist Church, Lilburn, GA. He was also a past member of Rotary International in Atlanta, GA., and was also a United States Navy veteran serving during WWII.Mr. Franklin was a devoted and caring husband to Velma Sylvene Bratcher of the home for 58 years. Also surviving are, his sons, Brent Franklin and his wife, Pam, and Stuart Franklin and his wife, Julie, all of Greenville, SC; his brother, Ronald Franklin of Mauldin; his sisters, Mrs. D.B.(Margerite) Weber and Mrs. Ralph (Marion) Hendricks both of Simpsonville, SC; five grandchildren, Trad Harter and his wife, Leanne, Rhett Harter and his wife Jodi, Carly Harter, Bobbi McKinley and her husband, Derrick, and Aaron Franklin and two great grandchildren, Cailan Harter and Ansley Harter.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Cindy Harter and five brothers.A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 10:00 am at Forest Lawn Memorial Park officiated by the Reverend Paul C.
