Bobby Hale Jones, age 70, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Chester, SC, on September 21, 1946, he was the son of the late Paul Robert Jones and the late Katie Estelle Hamrick Jones. Bobby grew up in Chester, SC and following college he and his family lived in Spartanburg, SC for over 20 years, raising children, attending church, and establishing his career. Moving to Anderson, he became involved with the Toastmasters and was known as a great storyteller, artist, and published writer. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Martha Carroll Jones; two sons, David Jones and his wife Brenda, of Lexington, SC and Joseph Jones and his wife Meredith, of Boiling Springs, SC; a brother, Danny Jones; a sister, Joyce Pressley; and 14 grandchildren. The Service to celebrate and honor the life of Bobby will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home.
