IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bobby A
Mullinax
December 12, 1934 – July 12, 2024
Bobby Andrew Mullinax, age 89, of Anderson, gently passed away on Friday, July 12 at his home while watering his garden. He was married to the late Theryl Williams Mullinax until her death in 2010.
Born in Anderson, SC, December 12, 1934, he was a son of the late Lewis J. Mullinax and the late Elizabeth Hughes Mullinax. He was predeceased by two brothers, Leland Mullinax and Boyce Mullinax; five half-brothers; and one half-sister.
Bobby was a hardworking man. Whether at home looking after his home and garden or laying brick at a construction site, he always gave it all. Even his leisure time was spent repairing antique clocks, farming, woodworking, or creating artwork. He was known as "Mr. Fix-It". Bobby was also a good man. God was first in his life, and he was a devout and faithful member of Concord Baptist Church. He was a wonderful husband, a loving father, a doting papa and a fun-loving "Papa Gee." He loved his family and cherished the many times spent together. Always with an abundance of laughter and food. Bobby never met a stranger. He was always smiling and laughing. Bobby will be missed by everyone that has had the opportunity and pleasure to know him. We lost a kindhearted southern gentleman, but Heaven gained an angel. Bobby will soon have the streets of gold, covered with red clay bricks, as we all know he must stay busy!
Bobby is survived by a daughter, Diane Mullinax Watkins and husband Robert; son, Dale Mullinax and wife, Sandra Hix Mullinax; grandchildren, Ashley Mullinax and wife, Channing and Amanda Mullinax; great grandchildren, Aiden Hedden and Adalind and Charlotte Mullinax; and long-time companion Beverly Chesser. He is also survived by two sisters, Helen Wilson and Hazel Mullinax.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 15, 2024, from 10:00 am until 12 noon at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of the McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Don Cox and Rev. Dr. Larry Pearson officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of his daughter Diane Watkins.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Concord Baptist Church, Building Fund.
