He was a retired aviation inspector with the United States Civil Service, having worked for many years in the United States and abroad. Mr. Ramsey was a Mason and was Past Worshipful Master of Spring Hill Masonic Lodge in Mobile, AL and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Williamston, SC.Surviving in addition to his wife are four sons, Butch Ramsey, Jimmy Ramsey and his wife, Valerie, David Ramsey and his wife, Crystal, Joey Ramsey and his wife, Pam all of Texas; stepchildren, Roy Chastain and his wife, Sue of Alabama, Rodger Chastain and his wife Cathy of Greenville, Terry Chastain and his wife, Terri of Williamston, Steve Chastain and his wife, Rita of Simpsonville, Debbie Chastain and her fianc', Bill Jordan of Williamston; two brothers, Nolan Ramsey and his wife, Sharon of Alabama, Norman Ramsey and his wife, Sharyn of Mississippi; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Wilson Ramsey.The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2007, at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by Dale Harper.
