Bobby Gene Taylor, Sr., age 79, of 106 Christopher Drive, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017, at Rainey Hospice House, with his beloved family by his side. He was born in Iva, SC, on November 30, 1937, son of the late Wilson Taylor and the late Lucille Davis Taylor. For forty-two years, he was the loving and devoted husband of the late Elizabeth Delores Kelley Taylor until her death in 1999. Mr. Taylor was employed for over thirty years by the Wamsutta Industries. Following retirement from Wamsutta, he worked with the John D. Hollingsworth Company in Greenville. He operated a table at Anderson Jockey Lot where he could be found most weekends for over fifteen years. Bobby enjoyed bowling with the Wamsutta Bowling League. He attended the Homeland Park Church of God. Surviving are his son, Bobby G. Taylor, Jr. and his wife, Wanda of Anderson; two daughters Leathia Taylor Farmer of Anderson and Kellie Taylor Kraft and husband Larry, from Anderson; a sister Patsy Taylor Moore of Anderson; five grandchildren, Shaunda Taylor Sinclair, Paul Harrison Farmer, Jr., Kaylee Elizabeth Farmer, Ashley Jade Kraft, and Taylor Nicole Kraft; two great-grandchildren, Taylor Mackenzie Sinclair and Maci Grace Sinclair. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, Delores, Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by three brothers, Randy, James Daniel, and Edward Taylor; and three sisters Linda, Ann, and Elaine Taylor; a son-in-law, Paul Harrison Farmer, Sr. The funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Mr. Bobby G. Taylor, Sr. will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2017, at 3 p.m. at the Mausoleum Chapel at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with Rev. Vernon Soles officiating.
