BONNIE SMITH August 4, 1933 - December 26, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Bonnie Jean Smith, age 79, of 209 La France Road, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at her residence. Born in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Earl Rhodes and the late Edith Burdette Rhodes. She retired from Spring Industries after 35 years of service and later retired from the Clemson University Outdoor Lab with over 13 years of service. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, and attended NewSpring Church. She is survived by her children; Belinda Jett and her husband Billy, Eddie M. Smith, Jr., Kimberly Smith Traynum, Brian Smith and his wife Susie, and Brent Smith and his wife Terri; brothers, J.E. Rhodes and Kenneth Rhodes; sisters, Virgie South, Earlie Hart, Barbara Ann Stanton and Joyce Bowers; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie McCormick Smith, Sr. and a brother, Bruce Rhodes. The Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at noon in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Dwight Greene officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 28, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
