David Boyce Dunn, age 89, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018, at his residence. Born in Anderson on April 18, 1929, he was the son of the late William Frank Dunn, Sr. and the late Luvie Mayfield Dunn. He is survived by the love of his life, Connie F. Dunn; his adoring and loving daughters, Angela D. Thompson and Alana D. Munday (Ed); two sisters, Kathryn "Kitty" Porter and Luraa Martin; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Lou Nell Carey; and a brother, William Frank "Billy" Dunn, Jr. Boyce worked at Sears and was once voted the friendliest and most courteous male sales person in the whole town of Anderson. He retired from Sears in Atlanta, Ga after 35 years of dedicated service and then worked part time with Fairway Ford Lincoln Mercury and The McDougald Funeral Home. He was a member of Young Memorial ARP Church, where he served as past Deacon, Elder, Sunday School Teacher, choir member, and showed particular attention to the elderly of the church in which he would step up to lend them a helping hand whenever he could. He enjoyed stained glass and fishing in his spare time. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Robbie Bell and Reverend Dwight Greene officiating. A committal service will be held at Decatur Cemetery on Tuesday at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends on Monday, prior to the service from Noon until 1:30 pm at the funeral home.
