Brenda Slater Barkley, age 67, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at her home.

Born February 7, 1958, in Boston, MA, she was a daughter of Fay Slater and the late Ray "Kendall" Slater. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Robbie Evans and second husband, Michael Barkley.

Brenda loved her family and spending time at the beach with her husband, especially at North Myrtle Beach where she made some of her best memories. She enjoyed movies, watching TV, and a good thick hamburger from Arnold's! Brenda had an amazing sense of humor and loved to playfully pick on her siblings. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Evans (Rachel); grandson, Cameron Weeks; brothers, Joe Slater, Ron Slater (Jalane), and Marlon Slater (Jo); and sister, Leah Hunter (Keith).

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 1:30-2:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The memorial service will begin at 3:00 pm in the Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
