Brenda Geraldine Thompson Lawton, age 79, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at her home.

Born December 18, 1944, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late George W. Thompson and Azalee Bryan Thompson. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Gary Thompson.

Geri was formerly the retail sales manager for The Salvation Army of Anderson. She was proud of her work and service to the community. Following retirement, she enjoyed her time relaxing at home with her husband and family whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Billy Ray Lawton; son, Bryan Keith Richards (Dorothy); brothers, Larry E. Thompson and Randall Thompson; and grandson, Matthew Bryan Richards.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 1:00-1:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Donnie Murdock officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
