Holbrook of 203 Central Street, Iva, SC passed away on June 26, 2011. He was born in Oconee County, on February 21, 1924. He was the son of Frank S. & Alma M. Holbrook. He was married to Martha N. Holbrook for 57 years. He was a faithful member of Good Hope Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, Deacon, Church Treasurer, S.S. Superintendent, and taught Sunday School for many years. He and his wife enjoyed their retirement years delivering Meals on Wheels, carrying sick & elderly to doctors, distributing surplus food to the needy, and working at the voting polls.. He retired from Liberty Life Insurance Company after 30 years.Survivors include his wife, Martha, a son, Frederick Holbrook & wife Janice of Lexington, SC., one grandson, Jonathan Holbrook, of Clemson University, one granddaughter, Erin Holbrook, from Chicago, Ill, one brother, Jimmy Holbrook, from NC, and two sisters; Linda Johnson of Anderson, and Carolyn Ashley from Honea Path.Visitation will be at Good Hope Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, from 6pm until 8pm. Funeral Services will be at 11:00am at Good Hope Presbyterian Church. Conducted by the Reverend Annette Graham and the Reverend Sam Byrum. Interment will follow in the Iva City Cemetery. Serving as honorary Pallbearers will be members of Men's Bible Class, Officers of the Church, along with members of American Legion Post #44.In addition his parents he was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters.The family will be at the residence, 203 Central Street, Iva, SC.
