Bruce Allan Berentsen, age 78, of Clemson, SC, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2026. Bruce was a dearly loved family member and friend to many. 

Bruce was born in Albion, Michigan, grew up in So Plainfield, NJ, then graduated from Rutgers University with his BS in Chemical Engineering, MS Degree in Chemical Engineering from California Institute of Technology, and MS in Applied Mathematics from Steven’s Institute of Technology. Bruce made his home in Clemson, SC for more than 35 years.

Bruce was a loving son, brother, and friend to everyone he met.

Bruce was preceded in death by his loving mother and father Sonia and Olaf Berentsen.

Bruce is missed deeply by his family: brother Tom Berentsen and his wife Deb (Miller), sister Pam Berentsen, nephew Zachariah Maged, niece Alexandria Maged; many Cousins and a large community of great friends and neighbors.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to his friends and caregivers for their loving support, prayers, and tireless help.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 am Saturday, August 22, 2026 at The McDougald Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service beginning at 11 am. A private burial will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Rainey Hospice House or Clemson University.
