OBITUARYBRUCE WAYNE 'BATMAN' MCALISTERSeptember 26, 1953 - May 25, 2007ANDERSON, SCBruce Wayne 'Batman' McAlister, age 53, husband of Debra Hyder McAlister, of 2609 Leftwich Lane, died Friday, May 25, 2007 at AnMed Health Medical Center.Born in Anderson, SC on September 26, 1953, Mr. McAlister was a son of the late Clyde Yates McAlister and Mary Ellen Thompson McAlister. He retired from West Point Stevens after 20 years of service as a maintenance technician and formerly worked for Glen Raven Mills. Mr. McAlister was a United States Army and National Guard veteran and guarded the Berlin Wall during the Vietnam War. He was an avid motorcyclist and was a member of ABATE of Anderson and also loved NASCAR racing. He was a member of Orville Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife, Debra Hyder McAlister of the home; son, Kevin William McAlister of Anderson; daughters, Amanda Kay Pruitt and her husband, Travis of Hickory Tavern, SC and Mary Laura McAlister of Anderson; brothers, Clyde Yates McAlister Jr. and his wife Brenda and Phillip Timothy McAlister and his wife Rachel, all of Anderson, and five grandchildren.A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home at 4:00 pm officiated by the Reverend Billy Pinson and the Reverend Dr. Johnny M.Quarles.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at the funeral home from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
