Marion Morrette "Bubba" Purgason, 71, of Anderson, SC, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020 at his home. Born August 24, 1948 in Anderson, he was the son of the late Quinton Morris Purgason and Mary Leona Fleming Purgason. He was the husband of the late Barbara Ann Cooke Purgason. Bubba was a veteran of the United States Army having served his country during the Vietnam War. He was an active member of New Prospect Baptist Church where he had served as a Sunday School teacher and member of the choir. He is survived by his son, Kevin Benjamin Purgason (Cecilia) of Anderson, SC; brother, Lewis Purgason (Dianne) of Williamston, SC; twin sister, Mary Ann Guenther and Velta Goldsmith (Gary) both of Anderson, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:30 pm Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at New Prospect Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Jerry Parnell officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Veterans Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 1704 E. Greenville St, Ste. 1-C, Anderson, SC 29621.
