Bud Putman, 88, formerly of Rhodehaven Drive, Anderson, SC passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018. Born September 12, 1930 in Greenville, SC, he was a son of the late Arnold Everette and Alice Parsons Putman. He was also preceded in death by his brother, William Putman. He was the band director at Greenwood High School from 1957-1969, then West Side High School from 1971 to retirement in 1987. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Ballenger Putman; sons, Joe Putman (Felicia) of Loganville, GA and Jerry Putman (Teresa) of Moore, SC; sister, Mary Helen Strouse (Garry) of Dallas, TX; granddaughter, Eryn Putman Malone and four great-grandchildren, Breanna, Arieanna, Jacob and Zoey. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00pm Saturday, October 13, 2018 at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:30pm in the chapel.
