Roy Leon "Bud" Shirley, 74, of 5823 Old Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson, SC died on Wednesday, January 20th, 2016 at his home. Bud was an electrician by trade and served proudly in the US Army in Germany from 1963-1965. Bud is survived by his loving wife: Minnie Powell Shirley of their home; four sons: Randy White and wife Faith, Ray Garrett and wife Sue all of Anderson, SC: Tracy Garrett and Rose of Clay, WV and Ricky Whitlock of Greenwood, SC; one daughter: Debra Whitlock of Greenwood, SC; one sister: Janie "Sue" Meeks of Anderson, SC; ten grandchildren In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his brother: James Bennett Shirley and sister Lillie Mae Cowart. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 22nd, 2016 at 12:30 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Powell and Chaplain Kevin Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in New Silver Brook Cemetery in Anderson, SC. The Shirley family will receive friends from 11:00am until 12:30pm on Friday, January 22nd, 2016 prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
