Eddie "Bud" Standard, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Oconee County on June 20, 1940, he was the son of the late Claude Standard and the late Lela Mae Standard. Bud was a jack-of-all-trades, but mostly enjoyed piddling. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Standard; children, Curtis, Connie, Chris, Eddie and Cindy; a brother, Reverend Billy Standard; a twin sister, Betty McGee; sisters, Kathleen Brown, Dolly Garner, Frances Whitfield, and Margie McCoy; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons, Eddie Dean Standard and Michael Oliver; daughter, Rita Faye Standard; a brother, Doc Standard; two sisters, Beatrice Minor and Mae Hall; and a grandson, Garrett Hanks. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverends Benny Dyar and Freddie Garner officiating. Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
