L. Peterson and Alice Silvers Peterson. He was a retiree of McDonald Douglas Aircraft and was a member of River of Life Church of God.Survivors include his daughter, Linda Bridges of Anderson; stepchildren: Deborah Parker of Pendleton, Peggy Black of Anderson, Sheryl Mayfield of Anderson, Barbara Brown of Belton, Ricky Gaines of Anderson, Sammy Gaines of Anderson, and Tony Gaines of Westminster; brother, Hollis Peterson of Travelers Rest; sister, Lucy Chandler of Hartwell; two grandchildren: Lori Gladey and Lisa Massey; thirteen step grandchildren; and a number of step great grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former spouses: Mildred Clemons Peterson and Judy Peterson; his son, Gerald David Peterson; his stepson, Larry Gaines; his brother, Ibra Peterson; and his sisters: Polly Peterson and Lois Blanton.The Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Patrick Keown and the Reverend Mark Daniel.
