On Tuesday, March 21, 2017, Burnus "Bunny" Helen Meyer Harder, beloved wife of Richard "Dick" E. Harder, passed away in her sleep at Clemson Downs in Clemson, SC. Bunny is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dick, brother, Tim Meyer (Lori), four children: Kathy Poe (Rick), Karen Faris (Joe), Krissi Graham (Chris) and Paul Harder (Nancy-Sue), ten grandchildren: Daniel Faris, Meredith Martin (Duncan), Leslie Frazier (Evan), Kimberly Leighty (Scott), Melissa Graham, Richard Poe, Joshua Graham, Ryan Harder (Audrey), James Harder, and Thomas Harder, and five great-grandchildren: Gavin Graham, Ginny Martin, Kate Martin, Rebecca Frazier and Denny Leighty. Bunny was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Mildred Meyer and her sister, Lina Wortman. Bunny was raised on a farm in Fairmont, MN. She met Dick and the two were married in 1953. She lived throughout the United States with her family as they traveled with Dick's career at DOW/BASF. After raising her four children, Bunny graduated from Clemson University in 1975 with an Associate Degree in Nursing. She worked as an Emergency Room nurse for 20 years. Bunny was involved in the Anderson, SC community spending countless hours supporting the Newcomer's Club, the Carousel Club and the Western Carolina Sailing Club. She was an active member of Trinity UMC, the United Methodist Women and she wrote the history of Trinity UMC. Bunny was known by family and friends for her love of travel, cross-stitching, knitting, gardening, and bridge. A visitation will be held Friday evening, March 24, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm at McDougald Funeral Home in Anderson, SC. A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Mary Teasley will be held Saturday, March 25 at 11 am at Trinity UMC. A committal and burial service, officiated by Rev. Duncan Martin and Rev. Meredith Martin will be held at 4 pm at Neely's Creek Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Catawba, SC. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity UMC in Anderson, SC.
