Butch Junkins, age 78, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born April 27, 1944, in Anderson, he was the son of the late W.J. Junkins and Azalee Gunnin Junkins. Butch was a graduate of Boys High Class of 1962, an Eagle Scout, and a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He was employed with United Parcel Service and retired after 32 years of service to the company. He was on the Board of Directors of the Teamsters Union in Greer. Butch was a faithful member of Covenant Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, and member of the security team and Senior Group. He enjoyed golfing and eating breakfast at The Clock. Butch was a proud husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Shirley Carnes Junkins; son, Neal Junkins (Shannon); daughter, Angie Junkins Krakos; sister, Janine Daniel (Ray); brother-in-law, Hank Vickery and his son Keith (Chelsea); and nieces, Katrina Allen and Lisa Harris. He was the happiest grandfather of Holley Aiken (Jared), Jenna Krakos (fianc Trevor Callaham), Zane Junkins, Bryce Krakos, and Zoey Junkins; and a bonus grandchild, Wren Johnson. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 7, 2022, from 12:00-1:30 pm at Covenant Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with Dr. Steve Silvey officiating. A committal service with military honors will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery. Those serving as pallbearers will be Zane Junkins, Bryce Krakos, Jared Aiken, Trevor Callaham, Billy Sanders, Jim Daniel, and Kevin Daniel.
