'Doc' Standard, age 79, husband of Ethel Clark Standard of 208 Gordon Circle, Anderson, SC, died Sunday, March 19, 2006 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, SC.Born in Fair Play, SC on March 20, 1926, Mr. Standard was a son of the late Claude Standard and Lela Reece Standard. He was the retired owner and operator of Standard Construction Company. He served in the United States Army and was a member of West Anderson Church of God and the Men's Bible Class. Survivors include his wife, Ethel Clark Standard of the home; a son, Danny Standard of Anderson, SC; daughter, Dianne Herndon and her husband, Eddie of Nashville, TN; step-daughters, Jackie Racca of Anderson, SC, Tammy Davis and her husband, Rick of West Union, SC and Petty Officer First Class Samantha Clark of Widbey Island Naval Air Station, Washington; brothers, Rev. Billy Standard and Eddie Standard, both of Belton, SC; sisters, Dollie Garner, Margie McCoy, Kathleen Brown, Betty McGee and Beatrice Minor, all of Belton, SC and Frances Whitfield of Lake Secession; thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a sister, Lela Mae Murphy.The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverends Mark Daniel and John M. Daniel.
