Hammett Street, Anderson, SC, husband of the late Helen Ann Griffin Cook, died Tuesday, April 03, 2007 at his residence.Born in Union, SC on December 13, 1923, Mr. Cook was the son of the late George Godfrey Cook and Katie Irene Ray Grant. He was retired from Wamsutta Mills with over twenty years of service. He was a member of the House of Prayer in Anderson. Survivors include his son, David Cook; two daughters, Linda Cook and Sylvia Cook, all of Anderson; four sisters, Fay Blanton and Louise Gray, both of Anderson, SC and Betty McEwen and Patricia Hilton, both of Florida; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Lee Cook and a sister, Joni Fletcher.The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverends Jerry Nation, Rodney Harbin and Mike Harrell. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at 9 N.
