William Carl Evans, age 95, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Iva, SC, he was the son of the late William Butler Evans and the late Mary Odell Sutherland Evans. He was a graduate of Iva High School and retired from sales. He was a member of REVIVA. Carl attended Community Wesleyan Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Virginia McKee Evans; a son, J. Carl Evans, of Starr, SC; three daughters, Eleanor Lynch (James), of Monroe, GA, Mary Ethridge, of Starr, SC, and Betty Brown, (A.N.) of Iva, SC; two sisters, Edna Stephens and Thelma Hanna; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Evans; a brother, Howard Evans; and two sisters, Mamie Rauton and Idelia Crocker. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 9,2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Community Wesleyan Church with Reverend Ron Rogers and Reverend Tony Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Iva City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church, on Saturday, prior to the service, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Wesleyan Church, 1901 Elberton Highway, Iva, SC 29655.
