James Carl Worley, age 74, of Anderson, SC, devoted husband to Betty Bennett Worley who was the love of his life for 54 years, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Linley Park Rehabilitation and Health Care. Born March 22, 1947, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Robert Edward Worley and Edna Fuller Worley. Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army and worked as a machinist with Founder and Steel. He loved watching baseball, NASCAR, and football where he enjoyed cheering on his favorite team, the South Carolina Gamecocks. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Carl was a member of First Assembly of God Honea Path, SC. In addition to his loving wife, Betty, he is survived by his son, Joseph "Joey" Worley (Tina); daughter-in-law, April Worley; four grandchildren, Joseph Worley (Cassie), Dillon Worley, Brianna Worley, and J.D. Worley; three great-grandchildren; and brothers, L. David Worley (Dee), and Mike Worley (Marcia). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Marty Worley; and brother, William E. Worley. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 13, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Howell officiating.
