CARLTON LEWIS January 31, 1930 - February 14, 2007ANDERSON, SCMr. Carlton Lewis, age 77, husband of Merle Crook Lewis of 1010 Pinecroft Drive, Anderson, SC, died Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC.Born in Franklin County, GA on January 31, 1930, Mr. Lewis was a son of the late Noah Lewis and Cora Carlton Lewis. He was retired from Bibb Industries and was a United States Army veteran. He was a member of Price's Chapel in Lavonia, GA.Survivors include his wife, Merle Crook Lewis of the home; sons, Kenneth Lewis, Bobby Lewis and his wife Wanda, and Brian Lewis and his wife Lori, all of Anderson, SC; daughter, Stephanie Wells and her husband Joe of Anderson, SC; sister, Betty Price and her husband, William of Canon, GA; nine grandchildren, Brandon, Blake, Scotty, Adam, Shane and Brent Lewis and Haley Moss, Brooke Sargent and Kayla Wells. Five great-grandsons and six great-granddaughters also survive.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jack, L. Q., Charlie, Grady, and Ralph Lewis and a sister, Evelyn Seawright.The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2007 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Johnny Stowe. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Military Honors by the Upstate Veterans Honor Guard.
