Carol Diane Markley Holloway, 74, of Anderson, SC, passed away, Sunday, January 3, 2021, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born June 12, 1946, in Altoona, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Daniel Markley and Hazel Grissinger Markley. Carol was a graduate of Tussey Mountain High School in Saxton, PA and a graduate of Geisinger School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse and lactation consulting specialist. During her career she had worked at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, GA, and J.C. Blair Medical Center in Huntingdon, PA. She was a long-time member of Saxton United Methodist Church (Saxton, PA) where she had served as the church secretary. Music was very important to Carol and she sang in the church choir of the churches she attended. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Steven Holloway of the home; son, Neil Holloway (Jennifer) of Cary, NC; daughters, Melissa Hester (Chad) of Powdersville, SC and Stephanie Nelson (Jamison) of Anderson, SC; and grandson, Harrison Hester. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Jessica Holloway; grandsons, Jacob Wyatt Holloway and Owen Henry Holloway; and brother, Carl Kenton Markley. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Trinity United Methodist Church,1809 N Main St Anderson, SC 29621. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Music Department of Trinity United Methodist Church, 1809 N. Main St., Anderson, SC 29621.
