Carolyn Butler Richmond, age 86, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at AnMed Medical Center.

Born October 9, 1939, in Harnett County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Butler and Myrtie Spence Butler. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Butler and Earl Butler; and sister, Geraldine Morales.

Carolyn loved growing up on a farm in North Carolina. She enjoyed watching birds at her home. She never failed to feed the birds at the same time every day! She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody. She was a great cook and New Year's Day dinner was one of her favorites to cook. She was a member of NewLife Fellowship. Carolyn was a clever and quick-witted woman who knew a lot of "fun facts" and was a hard worker who was very spunky and determined in everything she did. She was a sweet woman who adored her family and was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Stallings and Dava Singleton (Derrick); her loving sweetheart, Billy Hackett; brother, Larry Butler; grandchildren, Joey (Elly), Brittany (Jalen), Heather (Tyler), Lauren (Graham), and Blake; and 8 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. David Walters and Rev. Michael Harvell officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will be at the home of her daughter Dava Singleton.
