Semple, age 69 of 137 Caleb Court, died Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.Born in Anderson, SC on August 20, 1938, Mrs. Semple was the daughter of the late James Whitworth and Edna Mae White Crooks. She retired from the Social Security Administration having worked in Civil Service for over thirty-four years. She was a member of Varennes Heights Baptist Church where she attended the Helping Hands Sunday School class.Survivors include her son, Tim Moore and his wife, Kathy, and her daughter, Karen Smith and her husband, Jeff, all of Anderson; three grandchildren, Lindsay Welborn, Lauren Cantrell and Jon Moore and one great-grandson, Marcus Bigby.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Crooks Harrington.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Kirt Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Old Stone Church Cemetery in Clemson, SC.Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 23, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the home of her daughter, 206 Towhee Trail, Anderson, SC.Flowers are optional.
