Carolyn Schlock Walters, age 87, of Anderson, SC, went to her heavenly home while surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

Born June 19, 1936, in Oconee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Augustus Taylor Schlock and Flora Callaham Schlock. She was married for 59 years to Kendel Roy Walters until his death in 2014. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Schlock.

Carolyn loved people, especially children, and she was the babysitter for all of the neighborhood kids, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. She never got tired of a house full of kids. She was a fantastic cook and didn't need a recipe to make the most delicious meals and treats. Carolyn had a green thumb for flowers and plants and her favorite treat was Blue Bell ice cream, even if it was 1:00 in the morning. She had her beloved dog Saydee for 18 years until she died 2 years ago. She was a member of New Life Fellowship of Anderson.

She is survived by her children, Michael Walters (Gwen), Kimberly Johnson, and Rev. David Walters (Tina); grandchildren, Justin Walters (Jessie), Ren Johnson (Hailey), Tristan Walters, Wil Walters (Hunter), and Molly Walters; and great grandchildren, Stirling, Adelyn, Huntleigh, Hux, and Polly Cate.

The family will receive friends Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 12:00-2:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. David Walters officiating. A private family burial will be held at Oakdale Baptist Church Cemetery.
