Carolyn F. Wood, age 76, of Townville, SC, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Rainey Hospice House. Born September 22, 1945, in Liberty, SC, she was the daughter of the late Homer V. McHargue and Hazel L. Cook McHargue. She was the widow of William E. Wood. Carolyn was a beautician for many years, a real estate investor and enjoyed traveling and dancing. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and her dogs Baby and Chucky. She attended Pope Drive Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, J. Todd Baughman (Kathy) of Palmer, AK, Bruce L. Baughman (Carolyn) of Poquoson, VA, and Lenny F. Baughman of Appling, GA; daughter, Crystal C. Merck of Townville, SC; brother, Wayne V. McHargue (Susan) of Alexandria, VA; sister, Mercedes McAbee of Anderson, SC; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Chase Merck; sister, Mary Lee Barnes; and brother, Carliss B. McHargue. The memorial service will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Dr. Matthew Danuser and Major Wayne McHargue officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A committal service will be held at a later date at Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
