CARRIE LEE HART November 13, 1917 - June 15, 2012 Carrie Lee Newby Hart, age 94, of 1613 W. Front Street, Iva, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, June 15, 2012, from the Hart Care Center in Hartwell, GA. Born in Anderson County, she was daughter of the late Walter Newby and the late Fannie Patterson Newby. She was the devoted wife of Willis Matthew Hart, to whom she was married for 77 years. Mrs. Hart is a member of the First Assembly of God of Iva, where she served the church as pianist and choir director. Carrie Lee loved reading the Bible, and cooking for her family. She was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Left to carry on her legacy in addition to her husband are three daughters, Wilma Hart and Nellie Ruth "Sis" Hart of the residence, and Joyce Driver and her husband Jackie of Iva. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Marie (Spanky Summerall) of Piedmont, and Lynne (Tim Turner) of Iva. Also 8 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren survive. Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 18, 2012 at the First Assembly of God in Iva, at 3 PM, with Rev. Thomas Hart, Albert J. Miller, Philip Hart and Billy Pinson officiating. Interment will follow at the Iva City Cemtery. The body will be placed in the church at 2 PM Monday. The family will be at the home of Lynn and Tim Turner, 859 Pruitt Road, Iva, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, June 17, 2012, from 6 PM until 8 PM.
