Born in Anderson in 1909, Mrs. Dodd was the daughter of Minnie Adams and William Harris Edmunds. She was a graduate of Girls High School and was a student at the Anderson Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her daughter June Martin and her husband Charles Martin of Belton, two grandchildren, Dodd Martin and his wife Jennifer of Landstuhl, Germany, and Danny Martin of Belton. Also surviving is a sister, Laura Evelyn Edmunds, of Fresno, California, and Mrs. Dodd's devoted companion, Bonnie Simmons of Anderson. Mrs. Dodd was preceded in death by a brother, Hugh Edmonds, and two sisters, Macie Edmunds Stephens (Mrs. Fred) and Martha Edmunds Darby (Mrs. Barney). Memorials may be made to 'The Indwellings' home for developmentally disabled adults in care of Foothills Presbytery, 2242 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville, SC 29681 or to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson, on Sunday, July 23, 2006 from 2:00pm until 3:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel at 3:30pm with the Reverend Dr. Dennis Tedder and the Reverend Jim Foil officiating.
