CARY DOYLE, SR. May 10, 1931 - November 25, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Cary Calhoun Doyle, Sr., age 81, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2012. Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar H. Doyle Sr. He was a 1952 graduate of Erskine College and remained a dedicated alumnus throughout his life. He entered the US Army in 1953 and was later discharged in 1955. He attended the University of South Carolina Law School where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1958 and served as editor of the South Carolina Law Quarterly for two years. He practiced law for several years in Greenwood, returned to Anderson where he continued practicing in the firm of Anderson & Doyle. Later, he started his own firm, which is presently Doyle, Tate, & McDade, P.A. He was a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, Anderson County Welfare Board, and the Anderson Bar Association. He withdrew from active practice in 1999. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anne Johnston Doyle; twin daughters, Catherine Doyle Laughridge and her husband, James Odus Laughridge Sr., Christi Doyle Blair; and one son, Cary Calhoun Doyle, Jr. and his wife Trinna D. Doyle; grandchildren, Dustin Keith Blair, James Odus Laughridge Jr. and his wife, Katherine Reid Laughridge, Murphy Laughridge McCants and her husband, Trey McCants, Cary Anthony Doyle, and Jordan Garland Doyle; great-granddaughter, Stella Laughridge. He is survived by his sister, Laura Doyle Carpenter and her husband Grady Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his brothers; Reverend Clay Doyle, Charles Doyle, and Oscar ("Tiny") Doyle Jr. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 pm, with Dr. Dennis Tedder officiating.
