Cary Wayne Vaughn, age 60, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at his home.

Born May 6, 1966, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Haynie Ray Vaughn and Martha Ann Gaines Sheridan. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Joe Sheridan and his brother, Tommy Ray Vaughn.

Cary was an exceptionally honest man with a heart of gold, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who crossed his path. Very easygoing and genuinely laid-back, he lived a peaceful life and never had a problem with anyone. He was a hardworking man who found joy in the simple things. A passionate collector who loved turning trash into beautiful treasures. Whether he was taking on odd jobs or spending a sunny afternoon out in the yard working with his cousin Terry, Cary approached life with a quiet dedication. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and peace. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

He is survived by his sons, Robert Stancill and Cary Blake Vaughn Whitfield; daughter, Casey Vaughn Whitfield; stepsister, Jodi Sheridan Manley; aunts and caregivers, Betty Knight and Cindy Powers; cousins, Terry, Glenn, Vanessa, Travis and Amanda.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.
