Casina Louise Greer Metz, age 84, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Rainey Hospice House.
Born October 8, 1941, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Carl Greer and Bonta Stewart Greer. She was also preceded in death by her son, Tony Williams; and sister Ann Townley.
Casina worked for many years at Schmidt Laboratory before her employment with Piedmont Automotive, where she was affectionately known to everyone as "Grandmother of Piedmont Automotive." She was a faithful, longtime member of Fants Grove Baptist Church. Casina found joy in watching red birds and hummingbirds while admiring her beautiful flowers, with purple flowers being her favorite. She had a special love for giraffes and cherished her beloved fur babies, Millie, the late Sophie, and the late Mazie. An avid traveler, Casina loved exploring new destinations and created treasured memories on trips to Disney, Hawaii, Aruba, and many other places.
Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Lesa, Janice, and Courtney, who were always by her side; Hope Edens who not only was a travel buddy but her dear best friend; to Piedmont Automotive and the staff and nurses at Rainey Hospice House.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Richard Paul “Rick” Metz; daughter, Lesa Williams Blackwell; son, Ted Brian Williams; sisters, Martha Burke and Janice Case; grandchildren Courtney Williams, Summer Williams, Chris Williams, Sawyer Blackwell, Seth Blackwell, Jason Williams, and Jenna Williams; and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Raiden, Bryce, Judson, Cam, Maggie Claire, and Macie.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 9:00 am to 9:45 am at Fants Grove Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow the visitation beginning at 10:00 am. The burial will be held at the church cemetery.
