Casper J. Floyd, age 93, formerly of LaFrance, SC, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Rainey Hospice House.
Born September 2, 1929, in Royston, GA, he was a son of the late Levis Floyd and Elizabeth Harris Floyd. He was married to the late Clara M. Floyd. He was also preceded in death by his son, Marshall G. Floyd; twin brother, Jasper; brothers, Claude, J.W., and Edward Floyd; and sisters, Margie Compton, Lois Bryant, and Mattie Vee Heaton. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Casper was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked at Woodside Mill and later for Carolina Auto Auction. He enjoyed dancing and taking care of his neighbors. He was a faithful member of LaFrance Church of God for over 40 years and enjoyed fellowship with his church family.
He is survived by his daughters, Angie Clark and Sandra Getsinger (Eddie); 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 11:00am until 12:00pm at LaFrance Church of God. The funeral service will begin at 12:30pm with Rev. Roger Allison officiating. A committal service with military honors will begin at 2:00 pm at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of his daughter, Sandra.
