Catherine Erwin Anderson, SC Catherine Donald Erwin, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson. Born in Fair Play, SC, on April 16, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Lena Broome Donald. Mrs. Erwin, better known as "Kat", was a 1945 graduate of Girl's High. She began her career at Yon's Food Store for approximately nine years. She later worked at First National Bank for 25 years and retired in 1991. Kat was the devoted wife of the late Hubert Erwin for 59 years. She was a beloved member of New Prospect Baptist Church, serving in many capacities, and was a member of the Joyful Servants Sunday School Class. Survivors include her son, Michael David Erwin and his wife Joanne Raftakis Erwin; granddaughter, Mary Catherine Erwin; two sisters, Windle Donald Goldsmith and Joyce Donald Paris and her husband Cecil; one brother, Horace Donald, Jr.; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Hawkins Donald; also surviving are many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Donald; a brother, Billy Donald; a brother-in-law, Amos Goldsmith; a sister-in-law, Anne Herring Donald. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Tony Smith and Reverend Tom Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
