OBITUARYMRS. CATHERINE KIRBYJune 8, 1925 - September 30, 2006EASLEY, SCMrs. Catherine Potts Kirby, age 81, formerly of Pendleton SC, wife of the late Kenneth S. Kirby, died Saturday, September 30, 2006 at Blue Ridge Living Center in Easley, SC.Born in Walhalla, SC, on June 8, 1925, Mrs. Kirby was a daughter of the late Walker Bailey Potts and Vivian Kirby Potts. She was a homemaker and mother. Mrs. Kirby was a member of the Mount Tabor Baptist Church.Survivors include, a son Harry Kirby of Easley, SC; daughters, Shirley Fricks of Seneca, Judy Haynes, Anna Swaney, both of Sandy Springs, and Jeanette Brown of Anderson; sisters, Iola O'Kelley, Alma Black, Virginia McDonall, Emma Bowers, Mary Lee and brother Richard Smith, all of Thomasville, NC. Also surviving, 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Richey and Arlene Kirby and a sister, Bewis Hill.The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday October 3, 2006 at 2:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Reverend Gene Burdette. Interment will follow at Mount Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, October 2, 2006 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
