Catherine Mary Carr Murphy, age 93, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Rainey Hospice House.

Born July 14, 1932, in Dublin, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Richard Arthur Carr and Julia Elizabeth O'Conner Carr. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas (JT) Murphy Jr; and one brother, Peter Carr.

Catherine immigrated to Corinth, NY in 1954. She worked at several different places in and around the Corinth, NY area and retired from Adirondack Regional Hospital in 1987, where she worked as a respiratory therapy technician.

Catherine moved to Anderson, SC in 1990 to be closer to family. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed golfing, knitting, computer card games, and watching movies.

She is survived by her son, John Murphy; daughter, Eileen Walling (Joe); grandchildren, Christopher Walling (Sally), Theresa Walling, JamesThomas Murphy, Danielle Murphy, and Ryan Murphy; and several great grandchildren.

A service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 11:00 am at The McDougald Funeral Home with Mr. Michael Rippy as celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
