Cecil Bowen Anderson, SC Cecil Bowen, age 90, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014, at Agape Assisted Living. Born in Anderson, SC, on February 7, 1924, he was the son of the late John Meadie Bowen and the late Lillie Martin Bowen. He worked at West Point Pepperell for more than 30 years until his retirement. Cecil was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church, where he was also a member of the Prospectors Club. He is survived by his son, Dennis Bowen and his wife Jo Beth, of Port Royal, SC; a daughter, Cecelia Faye Thomas, of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Smith Bowen; and five brothers and one sister. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 20, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church with Reverend Tom Turner officiating. The family will receive friends at the church, prior to the service on Monday, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agape Hospice of York, 817 East Liberty Street, York, SC 29745. The family will be at their respective residences.
