Cecil Dyar, 88, of Anderson, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025.
Born in Townville, SC, on January 22, 1937, he was the son of the late Denver Harrison and Mandy Dyar. His siblings include Sybil Mullinax, Charles Dyar (Carol), and Donald Dyar (Margaret).
Cecil graduated from Boy's High in 1955. He shared forty-eight beautiful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Jane Hutchins Dyar, who stood by his side through life's many seasons.
Cecil was the proud father to Diane Fulton (Jim), Rev. Dale Dyar (Teresa), Phyllis Bolt (Jack), Tim Bolt (Tammy), David Dyar (Rachel), Jim Bolt, and Rev. Paul Dyar (Kim). His legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren: Alicia Barrett, Josh Barrett (Stephanie), Jarrod Dyar (Taylor), Jordan Dyar (Ammie), Haley Sapp (Andrew), Kevin Bolt (Gina), Kayla Ammons (Mark), Brandon Bolt (Mindy), Samantha Clardy (Logan), Amanda Moss (Jim), Jennifer Burdette (Jeff), Kasey Bolt (Patrick), Matthew Bolt (Haley), Grace Bolt, Anna Beard (Joey), Wesley Dyar (Makinley), Eli Dyar, and Jaden Dyar. He was also blessed with numerous great grandchildren who brought him immense joy.
Cecil was deeply committed to his faith and community. He was a faithful member of River of Life Church of God, served on the COG State layman's board, and his life was a testament to his unwavering belief in God's grace. He served with Crime Stoppers and the Fraternal Order of Police. He was a former president of Woodman of the World, former president of Anderson Sertoma, and a member of the Anderson Senior Follies Alumni. As the owner of Anderson Steel and Pallet Company for thirty-three years, Cecil exemplified hard work and dedication.
Cecil's life was marked by love for his family, devotion to his faith, and service to others. May his memory bring comfort and peace to all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 9:30-10:45 am at River of Life Church of God. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. Dale Dyar and Rev. Paul Dyar officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The service will be available to view through livestreaming via the church website at www.riveroflifeanderson.com.
