Celia Ann Scott Johnson, age 81, of Anderson, SC, passed away Monday, September 11, 2023, at AnMed Medical Center. Born September 18, 1941, in Aiken, SC, she was the daughter of the late Albert Lee Scott and Pansy Mae Mills Scott. She was married to Herbert "Bill" Johnson until his death in 2010. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Christopher, Ernest, and Lloyd Scott. Celia was a graduate of the Salvation Army College in Atlanta and was retired from Anderson County Department of Social Service and Anderson Independent Mail. She enjoyed reading, shopping, dining out with friends, and visiting her family. She never missed a family event. Celia was a God-fearing woman who loved her family, her church friends, and the Lord. She was a member of Centerville Church of God where she taught Sunday School and enjoyed church events with the senior group. She was a compassionate, selfless woman who loved her family immensely. She is survived by her son, Deron Johnson (Krista); daughter, Pam Lowe (Ronald); grandchildren, Tyler L. Lowe, Brittany L. Chabek, Courtney J. Moore, and Amber J. Chandler; and great grandchildren, Raeleigh M. Lowe, Able Lowe, and Ronnie Chabek. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 1:30-2:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Russell Baldwin officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Centerville Church of God, PO Box 1645, Anderson, SC 29622. The family will be at the home of her son, Deron Johnson.
