Carl Floyd "C.F." Kirby, 93, of Anderson, SC passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home. Born February 26, 1924 in Gastonia, NC, C.F. was a son of the late Charles Fred Kirby and the late Bessie Mae Harvey Kirby. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Joe, Furman and Vernon Kirby and sister, Elizabeth Simpson. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. CF was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, having served his country in the United States Army. He was owner operator of Kirby Heating and Air Conditioning. He was a faithful member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and former teacher of Men's #2 Sunday school Class and former deacon. He was also a dedicated Clemson fan. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Naomi Mathiot Kirby; daughters, Carol Thrasher (Jerry), Kathy Bell (Andy) and Teresa Griffin (Jimmy) all of Anderson; 3 grandchildren, Mark Thrasher (Laurie), Jay Bell and Jay Griffin (Mandy); 9 great-grandchildren, Keyes, Kazden, Kolten and Kariella Thrasher, Carson and Parker Griffin, Virginia, Isabelle and Tucker Shealy; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday, January 25, 2018 at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11:00 am on Friday with Dr. Glenn Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
