ANDERSON, SC'Mr. Charles Ayers, age 71, husband of Doris Williams Ayers of 180 Wexford Drive, Unit 104, Anderson, SC died at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA on Saturday, December 17, 2005.Born in Carnesville, GA on February 11, 1934, Mr. Ayers was a son of the late C.T. Ayers and the late Mary Mabry Ayers. He was founder and broker-in-charge of Ayers Real Estate, Inc. Mr. Ayers served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He also was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Mr. Ayers is survived by his wife, Doris Ayers of the home; two sons, Michael T. Ayers and his wife, Nancy and C. Terry Ayers all of Anderson, SC; a daughter, Cathy Long and her husband, Tim of Anderson, SC; and three grandchildren, Gabriel Ayers of Atlanta, GA, Summer Ayers and Stephanie Long both of Anderson, SC. Mr. Ayers was the last surviving member of his immediate family.In addition to his parents, Mr. Ayers was preceded in death by four brothers, Fred, Duane, Travis, and Preston 'Jack' Ayers; and a sister, Louise Ayers.The family is at the home of C. Terry Ayers, 106 Nottingham Way, Anderson, SC.
