Charles William Burks, age 67, of Seneca, SC, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at home.
Born September 13, 1958, in El Paso, TX, he was the son of the late Alex Junior Burks and Ellen Elizabeth Barber Burks. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia E. Nesolney and Betty Sue Burks.
Charles served honorably as a law enforcement officer for over 30 years, dedicating his life to serving and protecting others. He also served in the Army National Guard. Beyond his professional achievements, he was an avid outdoorsman and craftsman who found joy in gardening and spending quality time with his family. He had a fondness for Snickers ice cream bars, cheese sticks, and his sister Sandy's delicious enchiladas. He was known for his quick wit and caring nature, never meeting a stranger. His warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.
He is survived by his wife, Cinda Van Meter Burks; children, Jessica Noel Donaldson and her husband Patrick Hugh Donaldson, Charles William Burks II and his wife Brittany Renee Burks, Connor Rhodes Burks and his wife Elizabeth Breanne Burks, and Jincie "Alex" Burks; sister, Sandra Ellen Rowland; grandchildren, Jeremy Taylor Donaldson, Amelia Kate Donaldson, Amelia Ann Burks, Bryce Owen Donaldson, Eamon Hunter Donaldson, Sebastian Paul Burks, Lincoln Oliver Donaldson, Della Posey Burks, Declan Michael Burks, Cohen Rhodes Burks, and Baby Burks on the way; and great grandchildren, Alexis and Isla Bird.
The family will host services on November 13, 2025, at Bishop Branch Baptist Church, 1109 Central Rd., Central, SC 29630, with visitation from 1:00-3:00 pm and the service beginning at 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vets Helping Vets Anderson, P.O. Box 265, Anderson, SC 29622.
The family will be at the home.
