VINCENT 'CHARLIE' CAIN March 20, 1926 - October 29, 2008ANDERSON, SCMr. Charles Vincent 'Charlie' Cain, age 82, husband of Kate Janelle Thrasher Cain of 305 Gordon Circle, passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson.Born in Iva, SC on March 20, 1926, Mr. Cain was a son of the late John 'J. D.' McDuffie Cain and Agnes Turner Cain. He retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas after 33 years of service and after his retirement, he worked for Custom Recording Studio. He was a Bass Guitarist for over 50 years with several gospel groups, most recently with the 'Faith Gospel Bluegrass Singers'. Mr. Cain was a member of Faith Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Kate Janelle Thrasher Cain of the home; daughters, Betty Patrick and her husband, Terry of Anderson, Kathy Cain and her fianc', Bret Bowers of New Jersey and Tammie Pettigrew and her husband Joe, of Anderson; seven grandchildren, Christy Alexander and her husband, Paul, Kelli Callaham and her husband, David Lee, Dana Pierce, Charlene Stephens, Kristen Pettigrew, Katie Hilton and Brent Pettigrew; eleven great-grandchildren, Christopher Simmons, Michael Witt, Trevor Callaham, Caleb Dooley, Tyler Callaham, Carlee Moore, Will Alexander, Caitlyn Carver, Kurtlyn Alexander, Austin Lane and Brooklyn McDonald. He is also survived by a sister, Marie Gary of Anderson.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers and one sister. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2008 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend T. W. McGuffin and Pastor David Lee Callaham.
