Charles Albert Cardona, Jr., age 86, of Anderson, SC, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away Friday, May 16, 2024, at Regency Hospital. He was 86 years old.

Born March 14, 1938, in Queens, NY, he was a son of the late Charles Albert Cardona, Sr. and the late Genevieve Samson Cardona. He was married to the late Valerie K. Cardona.

Mr. Cardona earned a master's in education and was a music teacher for many years. He was the director of music for the largest school district on Long Island, NY. He was retired from the Army National Guard and was fully initiated in the Catholic Church.

He loved many things in addition to his music. Donuts, McDonald's, astronomy and especially, his grandchildren. All six of the grandchildren believed themselves to be his favorite and were spoiled beyond reason.

He is survived by his children, Charles Cardona, III and his wife Kristin, Peter "Pete" Cardona and his wife Susan, and John Michael Cardona and his wife Ursula. The "spoiled" grandchildren Catlin, Christopher, Cordell, Nicholas, Danielle and Matthew; and great grandson, Dallas.

The funeral mass and committal service will be held Friday, June 21, 2024, in Long Island, NY. The family held a prayer service in Anderson, SC on May 18, 2024.
