Charles William Dickerson, age 82, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Elberton, GA on May 12, 1936, he was the son of the late Thomas Elmer Dickerson and the late Mary Ruth Bruce Dickerson. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Charles earned the rank of Senior Chief and retired after 22 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Iva. He is survived by his son, Charles "Benjy" Dickerson and his wife Gale, of Iva, SC; a brother, Jerry "Leon" Dickerson and his wife Kaye; a sister, Juanita Olivia Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Burdette Dickerson; a son, Shawn Dickerson: a brother, Thomas Clyde "TC" Dickerson, Sr.; and a sister, Connie Ruth Lewis. The Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist Church of Iva on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow at Iva City Cemetery with Full Military Honors. The family will receive friends, prior to the service on Saturday from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm.
