Born in Habersham County, Georgia, he was a son of the late Lawrence Mitchell Elrod and Hannah Black Elrod. He worked as a Tool Planner for Lockheed Corporation in Marietta, Georgia, for 50 years. He was an avid golfer and member of Cobb's Glen Country Club and was a US Army Veteran who served in the Korean War.Chuck is survived by his wife of the home, his son, Lawrence A. Elrod and his wife, Tammy Elrod, of Anderson; brother, Howard Elrod and his wife, Orene, of Anderson; 4 grandchildren, Anne Marie Elrod, Paul Elrod, Brianna Elrod, and Tiffany Elrod; 1 great grandchild, Bryce Musielak.He was predeceased by his parent; brothers, Bufford Elrod, Floyd Elrod, Elmer Elrod, and Claudie Elrod; sisters, Inez E. Roberts, Ruby E. Gerrin, and Hattie E. Mote.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, March 2, 2012, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 3:00 pm with the Reverend Dave Neal officiating. A Committal Service will be held at MJ 'Dolly' Cooper Veterans Cemetery at a later date.Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P. O.
