Charles Farrell Giles went to Heaven to live forever with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

He is survived by his brother, Ty Giles (Linda); brother-in-law, Ray Evans; children, Vickie Lee Giles McAlister (Steve), Joseph Scott Giles (Teresa), and Beverly Ann Giles Blackwell (Barry). He was lovingly known as "Papa Farrell" to his seven grandchildren, Alan McAlister (Angel), Anna McAlister Harper (Eric), Keren Elizabeth "Beth" McAlister Davis (John), Wesley Scott Giles (Anna), Leslie Ann Giles Nestor (Michael), Leigha Giles Blackwell Sink (Jonathan), and Marvin Barry Blackwell, Jr. "Mark" (Melissa); 17 great-grandchildren, Will, Emilee, Ella & Guy McAlister, Morgan and Mac Harper, Harbin and Jennings Davis, Alice Giles, Davis, Layne, Caroline, "Bubba" & Ella Brooks Sink, Bethlehem, Lois Kay & Boaz Blackwell; nieces, Valerie Giles, and Suzanne Evans Knight (Larry); and longtime friend, J. Floyd "Frog" Stansell.
His employment years consisted of Wellington (Gluck) Mill in the Accounting Department and the U.S. Postal Service as a Rural Mail Carrier. He and his family were well known in the restaurant business as owners and operators of Giles Restaurant and the Chew-N-Chat Cafe' … best chili cheeseburger and "meat & 3" around!
Farrell truly enjoyed retirement to the absolute fullest, participating in his church events, activities and Senior Adult trips, family vacations, soaking up the music at Block Parties, making laps in the mall with his walking buddies, attending any and all activities involving his Grands and Great Grands, as well as residing for a few short months at the Legacy of Anderson. He loved going out to eat and could often be found dining at Boondocks Restaurant.
He was an avid golfer and many times could be found on holes #1, #8 & #9 at Pine Lake Golf Course after a day's work and home in time for supper!
Farrell was a patient, kind and Godly man; loved and respected by all. He taught Sunday School and served as Deacon at Varennes Heights Baptist Church where he was a member. His faith in his Lord Jesus was evident to all with whom he came in contact. His sweet love, presence, humor, and Godly wisdom will be missed by all!
"Thank you, Daddy/Papa Farrell for showing us how to find JOY IN THE JOURNEY. We love you"!
